Closer to God: My Journey Through Poetry

The poems in this book are presented to you in the order in which they were written. They depict my journey as I became a believer in Jesus Christ. I sincerely hope that you will come to the same conclusion that I have – that I received these words as a gift from God. I believe that God gave me this gift so that I could no longer deny His existence. This gift was my salvation! It is my hope that others will read these words and become believers themselves, or strengthen the faith they already possess.

About the Author:

Vernon Kadell was born in Hillsboro, Oregon, in 1953, but did not receive his faith until 2010, when he began attending a neighborhood Evangelical Christian church. Shortly after Vernon started attending this church, he began receiving the Word, through his gift of poetry, from the Lord. Vernon has continuously grown in his faith, still attending that same church. Vernon reads his poems during the services, nearly every week.
